We are committed to providing educational opportunities to disadvantaged children in Baja California through education, nutrition, and mentoring. The Children’s Fund partners with multiple groups from the United States and other Latin American countries to assist us in this mission. The Children’s Fund’s BECA scholarship program currently supports over 60 children in high school and University.
We coordinate church and school groups with needed improvements to orphanages, individual housing, and schools in the Tijuana to Ensenada area. We have ongoing solar projects at the Hacienda Orphanage in Tijuana, financial assistance to Morada de Ninos Jesus Orphanage in Tijuana. We have provided solar water heating systems to Casa de Paz in Ensenada and clean water to Los Angelito’s Orphanage in Rosarito. We regularly have educational and Church groups from California, Utah, and Idaho who provide basic maintenance and repair to area schools and medical facilities.
We work directly with the scholarship group, BECA, to allow motivated high school graduates to attend University, currently supporting over 100 children with scholarships to higher education and coordinate individuals who wish to sponsor individual students through housing and food assistance in Ensenada Mexico.
The LaMision Children’s Fund provides free after-school tutoring to the schools in Santa Anita and LaMision. We provided the majority of the construction funds to build a cafeteria in the Santa Anita elementary school which opened on October 2018, and along with the Rotary Club of La Mision, rebuilt the playground in Santa Anita.
